Washing technology wheel washing system
Scientific test arrangements with very different water pressures, different nozzle shapes and diameters, as well as different angles of impact of the water jets led to the result that a lot of water at low pressure leads to the best results. Of course, a lot of water and high pressure is even more effective. However, this would exponentially increase energy consumption with relatively little additional benefit.
A powerful jet (minimum 6 mm diameter) at low pressure (the jet does not change direction between the nozzle exit and the point of impact on the tyres or chassis) gives the best result. In contrast to a thin high-pressure jet, it does not lose its energy due to air resistance and can fully transport the kinetic energy to the point of impact. To achieve this result, the special immersion pumps “MobyPump” developed by FRUTIGER are used in the MobyDick tyre washing systems. Connected in series, they keep the starting current low.
